Choquequirao is the second most important archaeological site in the city of Cusco and it was connected to the last Inca cities of Vilca Bamba and Machupicchu through different Inca roads that ran throughout the Inca empire which we can see in our tour, as well as different people living throughout this area the population of Yanama, glaciers, mines, silver and lead that in the past, were being exploited until a few years ago. Day 1: Cusco – Cachora – Chiquisca

We will leave the city of Cusco at 6:00 am in the morning, heading towards the town of Cachora, (2850masl) and then start our hike. For about 3 hours to the place called Capuliyoc, from this place in the distance we can already see the archaeological remains of Choquequirao, as the canyon of the Apurimac, here we will have our lunch. Then we will continue with our descent to the camping place. For another 3 hours more until we arrive to Chiquisca.

Day 2: Chiquisca – Choquequirao

After breakfast very early in the morning we take the road down to the Rosalinas Bridge where we will cross the Apurimac River to Choquequirao. The Apurimac River to start ascending to our first resting place Santa Rosa, in this place we can enjoy the chicha de caña (cambray) then continue climbing to the small town of Maranpata where we will have lunch. With a beautiful view, then continue to our camp Choquequirao, (2850msnm) if tourists feel energetic we can visit the archaeological site in the afternoon to see the sunset, and have a first explanation or else it will be the next.

Day 3: Choquequirao

This day if we have not had the opportunity to see it the day before we will see it to the maximum because we will stay to camp for a day there we can visit all the corners of the citadel all sectors in the morning and afternoon so we can see the sunrise and sunset in Choquequirao as the flight of the condor that normally can be seen with the sunset.

Day 4: Choquequirao – Cocamasana

This fourth day, after being satisfied with our visit. Choquequirao we will start our return trip by the same route passing by Maranpata. Descending to the Apurimac River to then make our ascent to Chiquisca where we can have a cold shower to relax from the heat, and have our lunch, and continue our climb to the camping area in Cocamasana.

Day 5: Cocamasana – Cachora – Cusco

This day we will continue climbing for about 3 hours to the Capuliyoc viewpoint to see for the last time the Inca construction of Choquequirao and say goodbye, and then continue our walk towards Cachora to have our last lunch and say goodbye to our staff who served us, and take the bus back to the city of Cusco. And we will leave you at the hotel. End of our services. MEALS: Breakfast, Lunch.
